Comments:
  • Ranges are pretty extreme for a grade 1
  • Percussion do not play in the second movement
  • There is a timpani pitch change in measure 27 of movement three
  • The first movement is in 6/8 with level two rhythms
  • Piccolo part, three clarinet trumpet and trombone parts, and four horn parts
  • All clarinets cross the break at some point
  • Trumpets use mutes in the first movement
  • There are divided oboe and bassoon parts
  • Solo in 1st trumpet in movement two
  • Soli in trombone section in movement two
  • Publishers rating is a grade two but Texas PML says to play two contrasting movements to perform as a grade one
  • Conductors score has program notes, rehearsal suggestions and composer information
  • Third movement modulates to one flat
